Why Wispr Notes exists

Speech tools got good, then got cloudy. Every word you dictate to most assistants takes a round trip through someone else's servers. That trade never sat right with us — your voice is the most personal data you produce.

Modern laptops can run excellent speech models locally. So Wispr Notes does exactly that: dictation into any app, meeting notes built from your own fragments, all on your hardware. No cloud processing, no sending your conversations away — your voice, your meetings, your data. And no subscription, because there are no servers to pay for.

It is a small, independent product. The free version tells us which features matter (anonymously); Pro licenses pay for development. That is the entire business model.
