Why we built Wavren AI

Speech is the fastest interface humans have, and for years the tools that understood it best all worked the same way: your voice went up to a server, intelligence happened there, and text came back down. That trade was invisible until you thought about what actually travels in a workday of audio — client negotiations, medical details, legal strategy, half-formed ideas you'd never write down if you knew they were being stored elsewhere.

The unlock nobody was using

Somewhere along the way, laptops got good enough to run the same class of models locally. Whisper made state-of-the-art transcription an on-device commodity; open language models like Qwen made real summarization possible without a data center. The pieces existed. What didn't exist was a polished tool that put them together for the two things voice is best at: dictation and meetings.

So we built it. Wavren AI records and transcribes meetings, writes structured notes with decisions and action items, and types your dictation into any app — with every model running on your computer. Voice enters as a wave; a local reasoning engine turns it into information you can use. That's the name: WAV + REN.

Private as an architecture, not a policy

Our privacy page is short because there is little to disclose: content never reaches us. It works offline, which is the honest proof. And because your notes export as plain Markdown, nothing you make is locked in.

Voice in. Notes out. Everything else stays yours.
